This year I am going to make better use of what is in my closet.
Too many items that I really love just sit around for special occasions; a dinner out or out shopping on the weekends. Instead I am wearing super casual items while at home with my daughter. And while it doesn’t make sense to clean or blog in my best clothes I want to get more use of what I have before I buy anything more.
That brings me back to some of the ideas from yesterdays post. I mentioned going through my closet to do a gap analysis of where I have holes in my wardrobe. But I also need to go through and edit out items I don’t and won’t wear. This will make it easier to wear the things I have left. It will also make it easier to see them!
Dressing in more stylish outfits even when I am not going anywhere special will also make me feel better. Who doesn’t feel great when they are rockin a stylin outfit?
What are your New Years Style Resolutions? Are you cleaning out your closet or adding to it?

In the long run I will likely be doing both as well. I want to make sure that my basics are truly classic pieces. And ditch all the too tight/non flattering layering tees!

I think I'm doing both - cleaning out my closet AND adding to it. As I continue to do an inventory on all the items I have and figure out what works together I'm also realizing I have a lot of gaps in my wardrobe. I will get rid of stuff that just doesn't work for me and I will add quality items to make all my other pieces work. That's the goal anyway :P
