Last week I visited Coco’s Closet out by Baby Point in the west end of Toronto. I been to quite a few of the consignment shops in Toronto but haven’t really connected with one until now.
Sure some have fab designer pieces but either they are small with limited selection that really didn’t speak to me (sometimes the clothing is for the mature 50+ set). Or the selection is vast but little of what is there is worth trying on if you are looking for designer finds.
Coco’s Closet is small but not so small that you can’t find anything or have trouble moving around. Nadia the owner is selective, and the result is a great mix of high-end designer and contemporary brands. Lots of upscale denim too. Here are some of the things I want to go back and try on!
I have been kind of obsessed with capes this year. If you are into the look but not sure about investing in a coat a sweater with a cape look is a great substitute. This Theory sweater is $75.
This Free People top ($45) is a great green that pairs well with a deep indigo jean. It is sheer so you would definitely need a cami of some sort. I really like the lace detailing at the neck and waist.
I don’t have the details for this leather jacket but I do remember Nadia telling me that it was rarely worn and was purchased at a sample sale for over $1000!! The leather is an olivey brown and is buttery soft. It is priced around half original retail.
When I first walked into the store I saw these hand knit sweaters. Knit locally they are beautifully intricate and made into very modern styles. One Nadia pointed out was very Marc Jacobs inspired. The sweaters are 100% wool (some are cashmere), gorgeous cable details and are priced around $150.
The other item that I am dying to try on were the beige suede boots that were in the window when I visited. You can see them in my original post here.
I mentioned the premium denim – the selection is fantastic with a range of brands and much of the selection shows very little wear. Click on the video below for more on the denim selection at Coco’s Closet.
