You have likely heard the story about Craig Kielburger. How as a tween he laid the foundation of what would become Free the Children. What you might not know that in response to questions on where to find clothing and accessories that met the environmental and social standards of those that work with the Free the Children charity.
Me to We Style is the response to these environmental and social standards of the next generation. Clothing is manufactured in Canada ensuring workers are paid a fair wage. Clothing is made with organic cotton and other sustainable materials like bamboo.

So when Me to We style contacted me I was intrigued. I had been introduced to the brand a year ago via the Travelling Princess pop up shop on the Danforth and thought their hoodies and tees were great. Much of what is sold under the Me to We brand is geared directly at the teens and twenty somethings that are likely to volunteer overseas or take the Free the Children vow and participate in We Day. There are novelty tees with inspirational messages, even a special Movember tee and a collaboration with the former MTV vj Jessie Cruickshank.

I was sent the Madura T Shirt dress. It is actually a ridiculously simple style but it lends itself to incredible versatility. Just take a look at the 12 looks that Me to We created inspired by different Toronto neighbourhoods.
The only drawback I found with this dress is the sizing runs small. I was sent a large and it fit more like a small/medium. The sizing is more comparable to the juniors department so keep this in mind when you shop.
Nevertheless I decided to develop a couple of looks myself – although these are inspired by the season as opposed to a specific Toronto neighbourhood. The first one (see above) I can envision myself wearing for a walk in my Leslieville hood or just as easily over in Trinity Bellwoods. Make sure to keep the flannel shirt open more like a cardigan as opposed to a button up shirt. The second look has a biker vibe and is a great look to go out to a bar or an edgy weekend ensemble. The last is probably the one I would most likely sport without much effort at all. The Madura dress under a cozy wrap sweater and some leggings. Paired with amazing boots and some fantastic accessories and somehow a simple t-shirt dress is transformed.
I would like to give you the Madura dress that I received that inspired this post. Just leave a comment below or on Facebook or twitter and tell me what look you like best or how you would wear the Madura t-shirt dress! You can also enter via the contest form on torontoShopoholic.com (make sure to mention your favourite look).
