I was wowed around every corner at the One of a Kind show. I wish that I had taken amazing photos of every vendor I was inspired by but even of the photos I took not everything turned out as I had planned. Note to self, always remember my real camera next time, and not rely on the blackberry!
I was however very pleased that the pictures of Redfish Kids clothing turned out amazing. This line out of Vancouver is inspired by Asian designs with dresses for girls like the Kimono dress or Mandarin Swing. There are Kimonos for babies and even for boys.
I think what really does it for me though is the fabrics. The bold patterns are rarely used for more than one season and the combos are always unique.
One of the dresses has already made it to the big time; it was featured with Julia Roberts in Eat Pray Love.
Children’s clothing for the most part is cutesy before fashionable or artistic. But dressing your kids and babies in something from Redfish ensures that they will not look like a cookie cutter kid. Instead the fashion statement will be bold but still young and fun.
I only have pictures of the dresses but there are separates as well. My favourites are the coat for Chloe and the Butterfly Blouse.
Can’t you picture your little girl in one of these dresses? I can!
