I was out at the Spring One of a Kind Show today and it didn’t disappoint. Artisans ranging from pottery to fashion, kids clothing, costumes and of course food!
There were fewer vendors at the Spring show and I found it much easier to finish walking around and seeing everything without getting overwhelmed. There were fewer food vendors and no holiday themed artisans. Some of my favourite booths from the Christmas show made a reappearance at the Spring show but I want to share some new artisans that I didn’t see last time that I thought were fabulous.
The first is SWABY. Sherritt SWABY started her designing career as a finalist with Project Runway Canada and her booth featured the most amazing leather handbags.
A range of materials are used from skins to leather and suede. My personal favourite was a black bag with what can only be described as swirls. It came in a range of sizes with the smaller bag retailing over $600. The leather was high quality though and I am not surprised by the price. These bags are something I would expect to see on the shelves of TNT or Holt Renfrew.
Even though these bags are totally out of my price range I lust for them. They are edgy and luxurious all at the same time. Plus wouldn’t you rather carry one of these than the same old Coach bag you see every other girl on the subway carrying? Yea me too.
