The Sephora sale has opened up to a wider range of shoppers and I thought I would share my make up picks. Now I will be the first to admit I don’t wear makeup every day. I tried for a while. And I do like how I look better with a bit of help. When I first started playing with makeup foundation was pretty aweful. There wasn’t much selection. Today there is so much choice. And you don’t have to wear a heavy base to make a big difference in your complextion. I am going to share my Sephora makeup picks that I am wearing today as an over 40 blogger.
Glasses // stripe top // liquid lipstick // CC cream // blush // mascara // eye pencil
I am wearing all my favourites in this look. Although I might change my lip colour all the time the rest stays fairly similar for day.
Foundation
IT CC cream – this is the base I use most of the time. I have a few others in my drawer but this is the one I grab the most. I use the Tatcha primer as it makes everything go on better.
Powders, Brozers and Blush
Laura Mercier – I use her translucent setting powder to set my foundation.
Becca – I have a few different Becca products that I use. Blush, bronzer and highlighter. All of them are fantastic. The bronzer and highlighter double as a great eye shadow combo too.
Nudestix – This is my latest blush acquisition. Great for minimal makeup days where you want some cream blush.
Tarte – Another more recent pick. This is a more matte blush because it doesn’t have any sparkle or shine. I actually layered this with the nudestix in the look above.
Mascara
Monsieur big – Love this mascara because it delivers big lashes. I found it harder to use when it was super fresh. If you have a fresh tube use a light touch.
Definicils – This is a fantastic mascara if you want long defined lashes. I find it doesn’t build up the lashes like Monsieur Big. I actually started using them together. Monsieur Big as a base coat and then Definicils to define and elongate. I love the look of them together.
Eyes
I switch between eye crayons and shadows for my eyes. Eye crayons are an easy quick fix for a great work look. I like playing with shadows when I have a bit more time. I also like the Bronzer and highlighter trick for another easy quick eye look. Great if you want to do a vibrant lip.
Charlotte Tilbury Eye Shadow Pencil – This is my latest acquisition and the colour payoff is gorgeous. I do find it doesn’t glide on as well as the Shadow stick but it stays put better.
Urban Decay Naked Reloaded – This is the one pallet you should buy if you only want to buy one pallet. It has a range of gorgeous totally wearable neutrals.
Nars Shadow stick – Sephora doesn’t seem to carry these any more but you can get them here or here. These glide on so well and are easy for a one and done eye. I have the shade Oaxaca.
Laura Mercier Caviar Stick – This is similar to the Nars Shadow stick. I prefer the Nars one but between the two brands there are all the shades you could ever need.
Lips
Smashbox Babe Alert – This is the lipstick I am wearing in the photos. It is a great soft pink neutral. I find some are too brown. This is a liquid lip but it drys matte which I love.
Nars – Nars is my holy grail of lipsticks. Heat wave, red square, famous red and dragon girl are some of my favourites. The Dolce Vita pencil is a great neutral.
Givenchy – This is the other brand I seem to collect lipsticks from. The formulation is creamier than Nars without being too shiny. I love Rose Tafetas, Mandarine Bolero, Rouge Egerie.
Pat McGrath – I have a minis set and every time I use one of them I am reminded how GOOD these lipsticks are.
LanoLips or Brazilian Kiss – These are my go to when I want moisture. Lanolips is thicker but Brazilian kiss is more light weight. If you want something intense that you do overnight this is fantastic.
Dior Lip Glow – this is like an upscale tinted lip balm. But it adapts to your body chemistry to give you the perfect pink. I have the Pink and the Raspberry and it is great for days when you want colour but nothing intense.
Are you shopping the Sephora sale? Are you picking up skin care or makeup?

I like that lipstick. I think I will have to try it
