I have mentioned a few times on here that I have 2 kids. I have one of each actually, a girl 4 and a boy who is 18 months.
But aside from the store profiles and shopping guides on my main website I haven’t dedicated alot of time to kids clothing over here.
Mostly because while I love a well styled child, kids love to be comfortable (ie sweats and novelty tees) and have their own ideas of what looks good pretty early on. And sometimes it isn’t really what we think looks good. Sometimes it is hard to explain why it looks a bit wacky and who are we to decide that for them anyways? But I digress.
So I am dreaming about taking the kids somewhere warm. Somewhere we can get soak up some sun and dig in the sand.
But what to pack? Well the nice thing is that heading to Florida or the cottage in a few months means that there is loads of in season goodies to shop and pack.
Shop the Post (clockwise from the top); Packing for the Beach GIRLS
1. Flamingo Intarsia Cardigan (perfect for a southern holiday)
2. Spotty Stripe Jersey Woven Dress
3. Gap Suede Scalloped Sandals
5. Girls’ terry pocket dress in stripe
6. Girls’ side bow tank in rope stripe
7. Girls’ bermuda short in floating floral
Shop the Post (clockwise from the top); Packing for the Beach BOYS
3. Boys’ pull-on lightweight chino short
5. Roll Up Herringbone Cargo Pants
6. Boys’ Sundek for crewcuts swim trunks
7. Baby Boy Hawaiian Print Fisherman’s Hat
You can see a common theme between both of the packing lists. Both lists for both boys and girls have swimsuits, sandals, shorts and tees for play, something to wear out for dinner and a warm layer.
Of course there is all sorts of other things you need to pack like sunscreen, books, strollers etc, but lets just start with the clothing.
What is the must pack items when you are going on a family vacation?
