Sometimes all it takes is one item to pull an outfit together. Red and black is something that seems like a bit of a no brainer. But I never really put it together this way before. I always thought I should use a scarf with less red first of all. But I actually like how this turned out.
Ever since I got these black velvet pants I wanted to pair them with this plaid shirt for a festive outfit. This would be great for a work event or just for a day when you wanted to be more Christmassy.
I picked up this black toque on the weekend. I am loving the fit and the crosshatch knit. It is a nice alternative to the turn up styles and has a relaxed fit so doesn’t feel too tight against the forehead. I didn’t have an all black style so this was a must have.
My black pants are the ones from this post. There aren’t many left in the ankle cut style but the tall version is essentially the perfect length for someone around 5’4 to still wear without getting hemmed. Anyone taller would end up with more of an ankle cut.
Outfit details: Red coat JCREW (old but this or this would give the same look), scarf Chapters, hat JCREW, pants Old Navy (other options here or here), shirt JCREW, glasses Celine, bag Chloe (resale options here ), necklaces JCREW.
