I am always on the lookout for a cool sneaker that is also comfortable. Something that looks good with a regular outfit not just your sporty clothes. Something that is a bit more of a fashion sneaker than your usual trainers. After my Vejas wore out in the heel I decided I wanted something different. I fell for the retro 80’s look of these sneakers but kept them because they were more comfortable than the competition. This is my Reebok Club C Revenge Sneaker Review.
Reebok Club C Revenge Sneaker Review
The Reebok Club C Revenge shoes originally dropped in 1987 for tennis players. These are a modern version obviously but basically these are a retro tennis shoe. As someone who has had proper tennis shoes these are not as heavy but they still give the look.
A bit 1980s and a bit preppy but in a retro kinda way like you might have found these sneakers hiding in a closet at the cottage.
I had originally wanted to try the Adidas Sambas or Gazelles. But these are always sold out. At first glance I thought they weren’t going to be overly supportive for middle aged feet. I can’t wear super flat shoes like I used to and the sambas look flat. I actually ordered a pair of Gazelles and returned them because they were not comfortable and looked cheap. The Reebok Club C Revenge on the other hand has soft leather, looked more expensive even though they aren’t and had more support to the sole.
Size wise I got these in a Men’s 7 which translates to a Women’s 8.5. I would say it is a pretty generous 8.5 which I really enjoy. Unisex sneaker styles are preferable to me because there tends to be more room in the toe box which is great for women with wider feet.
I honestly found these to be really comfortable right out of the box. There was no stiff leather issues that you can have with Vejas. The soles are thick enough without going to a platform to not feel super flat.
I recently wore these sneakers throughout London walking over 20,000 steps and I didn’t get blisters or sore feet. I used to switch my sneakers day to day but I didn’t feel the need to do that with these. They looked cool with shorts or linen pants.
I have never been one of those people that needs the validation of younger people liking my style. I think that it is totally ok that millennials dress one way or like certain things whereas boomers or gen z will like something totally different. It seems silly to me to want to dress younger to seek that approval or cool factor.
That said my daughter who is 15 regularly stole these sneakers to wear.
They are more under the radar compared with Adidas Sambas but I personally like them better over all largely because of the comfort factor.
There are so many color options too. All white, black stripes, green, purple. And I don’t even know what the subtle differences are between the Revenge vs vintage vs 85. I just know that I am regularly tempted to get another pair.
What do you think of the Reebok Club C Revenge Sneaker Review? Have you tried this sneaker?
