The Sezane Andrew coat is a mid length wool coat with press fasteners. It comes in a cream, leopard and salt and pepper dark grey option. The coat is lined and feels roomy without being oversized. This is my Sezane Andrew Coat Review.
Sezane Andrew Coat Review
I picked up the Sezane Andrew coat in Dark Grey which is really more of a salt and pepper black and white coat. It is a mostly wool coat with a small amount of alpaca. Honestly you can’t tell that there is alpaca blended in as there is none of the signature softness to the wool.
It is a mid length coat. As you can see on me it hits mid thigh.
The closure is with poppers or snaps. They mostly blend with the coat. This coat from Sezane also has poppers and they are actually quite nice. I didn’t get the same elevated popper feel from this coat. But that might have been because it is this dark grey?
Fit wise I went with my usual Sezane coat size which is an EU 44 or a US 12. And it fits fine but I wouldn’t be putting any chunky knits under there. There is loads of room in the shoulder area but that roominess disappears quickly with layers. I am just wearing a t-shirt underneath in these pictures.
The feel of the coat is relaxed and unstructured. Especially if you compare it to the Sezane James coat. I like the classic collar and the slant pockets.
That being said I don’t think this coat would be warm enough for Canadian winters. It didn’t feel as substantial as some other Sezane coats. I think this is likely because it is only 60% wool as opposed to 100% wool like some others they make. If you live somewhere with milder winters this would be great though.
Full disclosure I have returned this coat. The two things that really didn’t win me over is the popper closure and the fabric. I think if it had button closure and perhaps a herringbone or some sort of more interesting pattern I would have been more apt to keep this coat. I like the length and shape and pockets but for the price it didn’t wow me.
What do you think of the Sezane Andrew Coat?
