The Sezane Deia shorts are a fresh spin on their popular Rome shorts. The high waisted shorts with subtle pleats are a comfortable but tailored option that gives you a more polished look for a summer day. This Sezane Deia Shorts Review will share why I think these shorts are a must have.
Sezane Deia Shorts Review
The Sezane Deia shorts come in three different organic cotton options. The blue denim I am wearing has a bit of stretch which adds to the comfort factor.
The shorts are high waisted and come with their own removable belt. There is a zip fly with a double clip at the waist. The leg is slightly flared providing lots of room for legs of all sizes.
I have actively tried to avoid any pleated pants since the 1990’s. The pleats on these shorts are subtle though and don’t create a front bum. In fact the pleats just provide some visual interest.
I do find, like most shorts, they can get bunched up at the thighs when I walk around. I think I have one pair of shorts that don’t do this bunching thing when I walk and they aren’t cute. Just keep that in mind that these shorts might bunch up with movement.
Size wise I chose a 46 or size US14. I find these true to size. The stretch provides some give which is nice. These shorts are high waisted and more fitted at the waist. They flare out at the leg providing lots of room in the leg.
The Sezane suggestion is that if you are between sizes, size down. This is likely true, however it really depends on how you prefer your shorts to fit. I definitely wouldn’t size up in these shorts.
The fabric is pretty thick. I like that it provides the shorts lots of structure.
Compared with the Rome shorts the only thing I notice that is different is that there is no turned up hem or cuff. The pleats might also be smaller too but that is pretty hard to tell without having them to compare up close. The belt is very similar and the length is the same.
Overall I think these are a really cute pair of jean shorts. They are a tailored option that dresses up the summer jean short looks. They could easily be paired with a cute cotton blouse or a button front top.
The sizing is curve friendly. I had held off buying any Sezane bottoms as I was worried they wouldn’t accommodate curves well but I was wrong!
