Sezane James Coat Review

The Sezane James coat is one of those coats that they keep bringing back year after year. There is one particular colourway that I still dream about and scour ebay every once in a while. The shawl collar and mid length makes this a chic blazer coat hybrid. Sharing my Sezane James Coat review.

Sezane James Coat Review

The Sezane James Coat is a double breasted, wool coat with a shawl collar. There are two pockets embedded into the waist cut.

This shawl collar blazer coat has a pea coat vibe in the navy, especially with the gold buttons.

The high percentage of wool content gives this coat quite a bit of structure. I think this might be my most structured Sezane coat yet.

This coat is very classic looking and the fit is true to size. I can fit sweaters underneath this coat without it feeling tight. Even in the arms. I think that is one thing that Sezane does well. The arms on their coats aren’t super slim. They aren’t wide either, they just have a nice proportion that means I can wear almost anything with this coat. Just maybe not the chunkiest of chunky knits.

The James coat is similar to the Harper coat that I bought a few years ago. The difference being the patch pockets on the Harper coat vs the hidden pockets on the James. The James coat also has seaming. Even the back of the coat has seaming although there is no back vent.

As I said above the James coat is one of the styles that Sezane releases again and again. The only difference between the coats aside from the colours are the buttons. Some have fabric covered buttons, the navy has the gold buttons whereas other styles have regular buttons.

If you are looking for a structured, chic, blazer coat the James coat is a classic option. Whether you go with the Navy or a more fun colour like the soft pink you can’t go wrong. This coat would be warm enough to get you through most of the winter if layered up properly and is a great option for driving because it isn’t too bulky or long.
