Up until now I have completed avoided the shacket trend. For the most part it just didn’t feel like a trend for me. The versions of the trend that I did like tended to be quite expensive. The lower end versions looked too lumberjack like. I wasn’t even looking for a shacket option but jumped at the purple check. The Sezane Paolo Coat Review will share why this coat changed how I felt about the shacket trend.
Sezane Paolo Coat Review
The Paolo coat is a wool coat with a classic collar and front pockets. There are four front pockets two on the check and two lower pockets with buttoned flaps.
The cuffs are a bit exaggerated and have two buttons.
The coat is fully lined so it is warmer than you think. Even though the wind might permeate the wool outer layer the lining will keep the coat from being too breezy.
Lengthwise the coat is a nice shorter to mid length. It goes past the bum and hits about mid thigh.
Size wise I got my usual US 12. I find the fit roomy although I would not size down. This allows me to easily wear this shacket coat over my chunkiest knits. If you aren’t going to wear thick knits underneath I would suggest taking a size down.
While this isn’t the type of coat I would wear to go for a winter walk (I would wear this or this). I would wear this coat all winter as something to wear in the car for running errands or to visit family. It isn’t bulky so great for driving. And warm enough to be going from the car to the shops or the office.
The Paolo coat comes in the purple plaid as shown here but also in an off white, green tartan and a classic camel colour.
What made me go for this version of the shacket trend is first the purple check which is so pretty. I also like the length. It isn’t super long like some styles, but is longer than your traditional shirt. I want it to look like a coat not a thick shirt.
