Last week Sezane started offering free shipping and returns to Canada. This is a brand that I had long admired from afar. But paying for shipping, duties, taxes and not being able to return something that I don’t like didn’t seem like a great gamble. Now though, especially with free returns, I gave it a go.
I have been watching the Marlone coat. It is so pretty and I knew as soon as Sezane changed their shipping policies that this is what I wanted to order. The coat did not disappoint in real life. The colours are amazing. It is oversized. I had heard that Sezane’s clothing ran small so I went with my regular size. However I probably could have gotten away with a size down. But since this is a winter coat I am sticking with my usual size to be able to layer.
The quality of the coat is amazing. It is however unlined. The first day I wore it, it was quite windy and you could feel the wind coming through the coat. I would say to survive winter in Canada with this coat you would need a thin puffer underneath like this or this. There is loads of room to layer up.
Shipping was super fast. I ordered on a Monday and the coat was in my hands by Thursday. I always find it amazing that European retailers can get their orders to Canada faster than retailers in the US. Or even retailers from Canada. I love it when free shipping gets me everything I ordered ASAP.

I know I am late to the Sezane bandwagon. But I am so on this bandwagon! Have you tried Sezane?

How much or what is the percentage that DHL charged you for the customs/duties fees as a Canadian buyer?

My last order it was 23%. 13% would have been the HST.

Hi! I love the coat :) it looks wonderful! I was curious if there were duties billed to you after or before? I can't seem to figure out how that works now that they directly ship to Canada.

Hi Cassie, Sezane ships to Canada using DHL. There are no duties charged in the checkout, it is something that DHL will charge once the package ships.
