When I was in my 20’s I did 4 Weekend to End Breast Cancer walks. The walk has since been renamed to End Women’s Cancers, but the sentiment is the same.
But then I got pregnant, figuring out the whole parenting thing and baby #2 kept me from walking.
To be perfectly honest babies are just an excuse. After 4 years I had maxxed out. It was a big committment and alot of fundraising.
So if you are like me and this October (ie Breast Cancer Awareness Month) you are looking for a way to support the cause that doesn’t involve walking or running anywhere think about SHOPPING to End Breast Cancer instead.
The Fashion Targets Breast Cancer t-shirt is a staple that keeps reinventing itself every year.
Personally I think this years tee is super wearable without looking like a statement tee or regulated to sleep wear which is what alot of my freebee fundraiser tees end up as.
Of course Rethink Breast Cancer has a number of other items supporting Breast Cancer research and education like the OPI nail polish, watches from Roots, even pink Tools that you can pick up from Canadian Tire.
Some of these items are limited edition and are available only for October while others are around all year-long.
If you are looking for items that are less overtly Breast Cancer Awareness-y check out the limited edition accessories from Stella & Dot.
Pink and Rose Gold are the colours of the Stella & Dot Breast Cancer Collection. Totally wearable and soft. And I am not even sure which item I like best? The wrap bracelet, the scarf or the wallets that can hold your cell? Which would you choose?
You might be wondering what the Noreen Fraser Foundation is and if the funds raised in Canada will be directed to a Canadian Charity. Noreen Fraser is the award-winning producer who created the Stand up to Cancer TV specials and is a breast cancer survivor living with Stage IV cancer. And yes the funds raised here will be directed by the Noreen Fraser Foundation to a Canadian Charity.
We are only 2 days into the Month of October so there is loads of time for you to shop and support these Breast Cancer initiatives.
