What I like about these sleeveless coats is that they go with casual and office looks alike. Plus without sleeves you can wear these over lighter summer clothing and the sleeveless coat acts more like a sweater or a vest; finishing off the outfit without overheating.
If you want to wear them through the dead of summer you might be better off with the flowy lighter weight fabrics like this, but personally I am going with something that has more structure that I can wear through the winter with a leather jacket underneath.
If you are having a hard time imagining yourself wearing a coat without sleeves just think of the versatility as follows. In the spring and fall wear over sweaters as a lighter jacket. The only times I can see the sleeveless coat not working as part of your wardrobe is on the very hottest and the very coldest of days.
