Slouch Coat Update

For the past few years my favourite coat has been this slouch coat. I considered getting a second version but when I ordered it the first time I was drowning in it as the sizing was different. I returned the too large coat but I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I got my Slouch coat update this year after admitting I still really wanted this coat.

Aritzia Slouch Coat Herringbone

As I said above this is the second time I ordered this coat. The first time I ordered it I got the same size as I have in my deep camel coat which is a large. However the large fit very differently this time.

The coat was very oversized and the large was well too large for my frame. This time I sized down to a medium and the medium is a closer fit to the large I have from the older version.

My first version of the Aritzia Slouch coat was the camel hair version. The Herringbone style is a wool cashmere mix. The result is a slightly heavier and stiffer feel to the coat. The camel hair is softer and a bit more drape in comparison.

There are actually three different herringbone options. A lighter grey one that is very pretty and a brown and black option that would be very chic. I had a hard time choosing but I stuck with the traditional black option. It was the one that I originally wanted so I stuck with that feeling.

I am happy with this coat because overall it has the same menswear feel to it but it does almost feel like a different coat. It isn’t quite a slouchy but I think that has to do with the wool content. Still it is the best herringbone coat I have found. So many have a high polyester content and still are quite expensive.

The pockets are different on this version than the other one I have. The pockets on this coat are at the seam. The ReCamel Wool version they are slightly in front of the seam, on the front panel of the coat. The camel hair version also has a blanket stitching detail that the herringbone coat does not have.
