Spring Uniform

This past week was pretty dreary. I don’t think there was one day that didn’t rain. But it did allow me to get some use out of this new trench coat I scored on sale. I didn’t exactly need a new trench but I wanted one in a different colour. I was also hoping it would hit me lower on the leg. This JCREW Factory trench is a nice addition. I love the light beige colour, it is extremely classic. It also has a bit of a pleat at the vent which is a nice detail. I need to move the buttons on the sleeve so that it fits better at the wrist and the belt is exceptionally long which in a way is great for tying the trench closed.

While I might not recommend buying this JCREW factory trench coat at full price, I don’t think there is enough special details like a funky lining to warrant the $200 price tag. I do think if you can score it on sale (which is like all the time if you are watching) it is worth picking up as it is a great classic piece.

The one great thing about the cooler rainy weather is that I have been able to suffer having a jacket, even if it is just for the mornings.

I recently read about the third piece rule. Which in a nut shell is that you need a third piece (not including your shoes) to add to your top and bottoms to look complete. Except when it is super hot this is near impossible. I can’t handle even a scarf at the neck once we hit 30 degrees! So being about to keep wearing a jacket has me feeling more finished which is a great start to the day.

I hope that you had a lovely weekend! We finally saw some sunshine yesterday and it was my daughter’s recital weekend so we were back and forth to the theatre she was performing at for all the different shows. Busy but in a good way. Looking forward to the summer for a bit of a slower time at work and some fun time at the cottage.
