Summer Dress Remix

When I think about the items that I wear over and over in the summer denim shorts, workout shorts, tees and tanks come to mind. But when I think about the things that I feel most put together in while the weather is hot dresses win hands down. Earlier in the week I shared this Chicwish dress, which is a great cotton dress for summer but how to style it differently for rewear? This is my Summer Dress Remix challenge. 

Usually the first thing I would do with a remix is put on a different jacket, but with temperatures hitting 40 degrees celcius this past weekend adding layers really wasn’t a good idea.

Instead I played around with accessories.

The first time around I wore more brown hues with this dress, this time I went blue. Instead of a leather belt I tied on an oversized summer scarf, playing up the whole boho feel of the dress.

A hat also makes sense in the hot sun and my panama hat is one that I reach for more than any other.

Switching out my boho diy necklace for a gold tassel one also changes up the look.

I paired my Madewell skimmer flats with this look as they are a favourite summer flat of mine for the past few years. I bought the JCREW version (seen here) but I actually prefer the Madewell ones. I like the leather they lined the Madewell skimmer flats with as the JCREW ones feel more like pleather (even though it is marked leather – could just be the finish on the lining?). It could just be that the Madewell ones are more stretched out and broken in but I just gravitate to them more often.
