As I wait impatiently for the weather to cool down I thought I would put together a post about all the teddy coats that are catching my eye right now. The teddy coat trend seems to be sticking around for the moment and I am kinda glad because these coats are WARM. Time to do a Teddy Coat Update.
Teddy Coat Update
- ASOS Design teddy coat – This is pretty typical of a teddy coat design. I like the lapels, the colour is a nice neutral. It is single breasted which I find is more flattering usually but it looks to have a pretty straight fit.
- ONLY Oversized teddy coat – the two most popular colours when it comes to teddy coats are white and brown. This one has a open front which is great if you don’t ever close your coat but not great for deep into winter. You could belt it though if you want closure.
- Teddy Wrap Coat – This is my second favourite style from this round up. I love the colour and that it is a longer belted style.
- New Look Teddy Coat – This is the coat that caught my eye and got me to look at teddy coats again for this fall winter season. It is also the least expensive option in this round up.
- kensie faux fur Teddy Coat – this one comes in lilac too if you are feeling adventurous.
- Teddy Coat – This one is a bit shorter, more like a pea coat. It also comes in a dusty rose colour which is actually really wearable.
- Woven Heart Faux Fur Teddy Coat – I love the colour on this coat. And I like that it is faux fur and not just a nubby fleece. It makes it more luxurious looking.
- Faux Shearling long coat – This coat looks really unique. The texture of the coat is different and the grey colour is pretty cool.
- River Island petite teddy coat – another option in the cool Mongolian fur texture. The colour is unique too. This one is in petites.
- Faux Fur Cocoon Coat – This one has a unique shape which will allow for more layers underneath.
- Camel Women’s Borg Coat – This option is really simple looking and under $100.
- Faux Fur Coat – this is my favourite option. In fact I have already bought it! I love the longer length and how it has a similar shape to the Max Mara version.
So what is it that makes a teddy coat? Most of them are a a fleece coat with oversized lapels. Some are more of a faux fur that resembles your childs favourite teddy bear. The whole teddy bear thing is why so many of these coats are in shades of brown or white. But really they can be any colour or shape. The Max Mara coat is the most symbolic of this trend in my opinion but at a price that causes many copy cats or riffs on the trend.
Are you going to go with a teddy coat update for 2018?
