There are certain things in my closet that I am just not willing to part with, even though they don’t fit me the same as before kids.
This dress is one of them. Yes I said dress.
So this Tibi Mexican dress is actually strapless, which made it fairly easy to fold over some of the excess fabric and wear as a skirt.
The strapless portion is on the small side and I recall sizing up to get full coverage back when I bought it and now that I am left with a size larger cup size after my son was weaned it no longer has a flattering fit in the chest area.
But I love the embroidery! So instead of sitting in my closet for a few more years or consigning it I have to think outside the box.
Outfit details: Dress worn as a skirt Tibi (old), tank Old Navy, Sandals JCREW (old), necklace Ily Couture.
I am thinking I should get this permanently altered into a skirt. What do you think? Do you like this Mexican style embroidered dress?

I often switch dresses into skirts as well :) . I think you should definitely get it altered to wear as a skirt going forward. It's such a one of a kind type piece. Don't let a good thing go to waste girl. Hollaaa http://www.memoirsofanesha.wordpress.com

Thanks Susan. I need to track down a great seamstress. I think I would get so much more wear out of it this way.
