We have been having a really weird winter. I like to call it endless March because it has been closer to the temperatures and temperamental weather we see near the end of Winter not February.
And as much as I don’t want to complain about the milder temperatures, I am not really a fan of slush and freezing rain. Still there has been one big plus to this mild winter. I can wear my cape.
Capes aren’t exactly all that warm, so they are actually perfect for transition seasons because you can layer them up and you won’t get too hot because the cold air can get in quite easily.
A cape is not a substitute for a heavy winter jacket. They are also awkward to drive with because the arm holes don’t allow for full arm movement. Still I love the look of a cape.
When I ordered this Foley + Corinna bag a couple of years ago I was surprised at the size when it arrived. I for some reason have a terrible time judging size when I order things online. I often expect things to be bigger. Still it has come in handy because I tend to keep my wallet in this purse and then when I need a bigger purse (to use as a diaper bag) I just stuff this one inside instead of fully transferring over to the larger bag. I have gotten so many compliments on this Foley + Corinna Disco City Bag because of its cool tie dye leather.
I finally hemmed these pants (last seen here) and I am amazed at the difference a few inches makes. I pulled these boots out of the archives. I used to wear them all the time when I went to an office every day. I still like that they are a glammed up winter boot.
Cape Jacob (similar here also like this one here), long sleeved white tee Gap, Grey denim Banana Republic, Black Boots Ralph Lauren via Winners, Foley Corinna Disco City Mini Bag (similar), bracelet vintage, Sunglasses Maui Jim.
Did you ever pick up on the cape trend? What do you wear to survive the cold but not deep winter cold?
