Today my girls (Alexis & Camille) over at Elements of Fakery are sharing their top 5 beauty must haves to take on vacation. Read on to find out what they have at the top of their packing list.
We both tend to over pack when we go on trips (because we all need 5 red lipsticks in our bag, right?). So when Jane asked us to write a guest post, we tried to think of what our top 5 items would be if that was all that could fill our makeup bag. We mixed the products below to get this easy day to night look:
Top 5 Vacation Beauty Must Haves
1. BB Cream with SPF
This would be a must in our makeup bag for sure! Our faves are the MAC Prep and Prime BB Cream SPF 35 and the Dr. Jart Premium BB Cream SPF 45. These both give great coverage, even out the skin tone and have enough SPF that you (might) skip a separate face SPF.
2. Concealer
This one is a given – as really we can’t live without concealer in the first place. When traveling though, it comes in extra handy to erase any signs of sleepless nights of fun before. We like Benefit Erase Paste in this case, as it is small, you can use your fingers to apply it and it really covers everything.
3. Multi-Use Face Palette
There are a bunch of different palettes we love – NARS The Happening is the one we used in this post to get an easy daytime eye with the light brown, and a smokey night look adding the darker brown. This palette is great as it also has a great blush and bronzer in it, making it really simple for travel.
Another easy option is custom palettes from Yaby . These are compact, and you can add everything from foundation, concealer, eyeshadow, blush and lipstick – in whichever shades you like best. It is so small you can stash it in your purse for easy touch ups too!
4. Lash Curler/Mascara
These go hand in hand, so we made it one number (cheating I know…) but really, a waterproof mascara and lash curler are pretty much a travel makeup look necessity…
5. Lip Stain
We used a lip stain from Joe Fresh in Mango for the looks below – as it has enough colour to work for day and night, and also wont break the bank. A tinted lip balm would also work fine – we love the Fresh Sugar Lip Balm in Berry as an easy daytime go to.
Loving these looks from Elements of Fakery because we all want to look good on holiday right? But not have it take too much of our vacation time.
