Watching the Joe Fresh show was an experience in so many ways. First getting a seat was mayhem. I am glad that I had connected with Christina from The Style Mogul because she encouraged us to wait in line right after the Melissa Nepton show. This ensured we got a seat, but not everyone did.
The show itself had what I would expect from Joe, lots of wearability, fun colour, and yes some orange.
The winter collection had a very obvious influence from the 1960’s. There were many mod inspired necklines, some shift dresses and lots of skinny pants. The coat shown above was one of my favourites and an item that would get a reaction of “You got that at Joe Fresh?!”.
There were many structured jackets in the collection ranging from shrunken blazers and puffer jackets, to slightly oversized but still rigid pea coats.
Styling included alot of tone on tone pairings of blues and teal, reds and burgundy.
By far the boldest item was the watercolour print suit above. Questionable whether this will make it into stores, I do think it would sell. Why? because break that suit up and you would be rocking an on trend printed pant or blazer. Pair either piece with black and you would be good to go.
The shrunken puffer jacket was another favorite item from the Fall 12 Joe Fresh Collection. Puffer jackets have gotten smaller and smaller and this one is easily mistaken for a blazer.
Puffer details were found throughout the collection on coats that weren’t down filled. Quilted puff sleeves were on wool jackets and leather alike.
Houndstooth played a significant role at the tail end of the collection. Skirts, silk blouses and my favourite the skinny pant above all included the black and white houndstooth print.
Other details from the show that I wasn’t too fond of were the faux fur sleeves on some of the coats. Still it tells me that faux fur will continue to be big in Fall 2012 along with leather details.
Joe also included some chunky knits and oversized chunky knit beanies.
Above was my favourite jacket of the collection. Click through the gallery below and tell me your favourite in the comments.
