Usually when I do packing lists here on this blog I do them for myself. But I also pack for my husband. Well the first go round anyways. He always finds something I forgot like socks or underwear. So consider this a first draft packing list for husbands, this is Travel Packing for Guys.
Travel Packing for Guys:
- 1969 STRAIGHT FIT JEANS – Just like myself my husband travels in a pair of jeans. Unlike myself he will wear them to dinner throughout the week. All inclusives require men to wear long pants in some of the reservation only restaurants so long pants are a must.
- Mixed Stripe textured cotton tee – I pack many more t-shirts for my husband. He wears them during the day instead of a beach cover up. He also tends to burn so he might even be caught wearing them while we are sun bathing. He gets at least 6 clean tees in his suitcase.
- Cotton Cashmere Zip Hoodie – Planes are cold, and even though my husband might not admit it he gets cold too. I have seen so many people when they are travelling to warm destinations dress as if they are ready for 30 degree heat and then the ac gets turned on and everyone is reaching for their sweaters.
- ‘Barlow’ Sneaker – a dressed up sneaker is a great option for men as it looks dressier than it is, can be worn to dinners out and if need be excursions.
- Factory slim short-sleeve printed lightweight chambray shirt – I don’t usually go for cheesy vacation shirts but this updated version is better than the vintage options.
- Factory short-sleeve linen shirt – These short sleeve button front shirts are a great option to look dressier than a regular tee but not too formal. Plus all inclusive reservation restaurants require a certain dress code for men, these shirts fit the requirements.
- San O Trunks – Swim trunks are a no brainer. I pack at least two if not more pairs for my husband so that he can cycle through with dry pairs every day.
- Factory 7″ board short in Hawaiian floral – Whether my husband likes it or not (he never says he doesn’t!) this is a typical style I will buy for him because the Hawaiian floral just screams vacation.
- Wallace & Barnes Polo – I don’t just pack basic tees I try to pack some jersey polos like the one featured. Collared shirts like this will work for all inclusive restaurants.
- ‘Kekoa’ Water Resistant Perforated Flip Flop – I often put more thought into what is going to be worn for dinner that I don’t spend alot of time thinking about things like beach sandals. Something that is easy to slip on and off to walk through the sand to the pool, the snack bar and back to the room.
- Factory Sutton garment-dyed jean – These are jeans but they don’t look like a typical jean which means they are a great alternative to chinos.
- Weekender Bag – We usually check a bag when we are going for a vacation that is a week or more. Still it is nice to have a bag on the plane that can accommodate things like reading material, those clothes that you pack in case your luggage goes missing and things like your sweater or a pillow.
- Caravan Sunglasses – Sunglasses are an obvious thing to pack when going somewhere sunny. How else are you going to power through all those novels while sitting on the beach?
- Kobo Glo HD – I reviewed my Kobo Glo HD last year and it really has changed the way I read, not only on vacation. I also have found myself reading more than I have since I had kids. This is so much easier than packing the 5 – 7 hardcover novels I used to drag along with me!
Do you pack for your husband when you go on vacation? I just get stressed out when he leaves it to the last minute so I like to do the first pack that he can check quickly the day before we go to adjust for things he wants to bring. Is this how you do your travel packing for guys?
