People often have Christmas in July parties but no other holiday really evokes the same feeling out of people that makes them want to celebrate twice a year. But when I put together this outfit I immediately thought it was Valentine’s day appropriate with the pink, white and red colour combination.
You won’t catch me smiling in today’s post because I was actually quite annoyed when doing these photos. In an attempt to take outfit pictures in a pretty location instead of my back alley way all the time I had traveled over to Brookfield place. They have this great art installation with large fluffy clouds hanging from the ceiling and the facade of a turn of the century (or older) building built into the indoor pedestrian area. I thought it would make a fantastic place to shoot. I mean people take their wedding photos there. But I had barely set up and the security guard is telling me that I am not allowed to take photos there because I am using a tripod. Say WHAAAT? He said the management is worried about the floor. Which is the silliest rule ever because my tripod has rubber on the base. Still I was able to salvage the trip by going outside in this lovely courtyard. Hashtag stupid rule.
Still I had a lovely walk (even through my shoes were killing my feet to the point I bought a new pair of Birkenstocks) in the downtown core of Toronto which I don’t really venture into much because well, I don’t work in banking or at any of the companies that have their offices around Bay Street.
I am really loving this white eyelet dress. Probably one of the most worn items in my closet this summer aside from my denim cutoffs. I particularly like pretending it is a skirt with jackets and sweaters layered over top.

That's so silly!! What a bummer when people don't collaborate! I thought you were wearing a skirt, cute flats!

I know. I feel bad for the security guard because he thought it was silly too but had to tell me no. And then deal with my attitude. Oh well.
