I have decided to do a special series on styling for the office. I had a question from a follower about a few office related shopping scenarios, and styling for meetings. I realized that while talking about trends and sharing off duty style is fun, it doesn’t help to many of you with the 9 – 5 workweek.
So I am starting with something that should be in your closet but I am betting many of you don’t wear one as often as you should. It’s the dress.
Shop the Dresses Clockwise from the Top;
2. Diane von Furstenberg New Jeanne Two Dress
3. Michael Michael Kors Sapphire Blue Cowl Neck Drape Dress
4. Leather Torso Dress by McQ Alexander McQueen
5. Boucle Cap Sleeve Dress by Moschino Cheap & Chic
6. Bottle Green Pleated Jersey Dress by DKNY
What is so great about the dress is that it requires less thinking when it comes to styling. You do have to remember not to go too short, but aside from that you can pick from the super flattering wrap to a mix of textures like leather and tweed.
Maybe it’s a hatred of pantyhose or a fear that anything other than a pantsuit isn’t work appropriate but dresses just aren’t chosen by alot of female professionals. But look how easy it is to get 2 looks out of one dress.

If you are looking for dresses similar to the styles shown above but are on a tighter budget the best place to start is mall stores like Banana Republic or JCREW.
What would it take for you to start wearing a dress to work?

When I find dresses at bargain prices, I don't mind wearing them to work. You put together a great collection of options for the office. Love the dress with the leather top.
