So it has finally warmed up in Toronto. Warm enough that you don’t need a jacket in the afternoon, but nothing like the humidity laced summer.
This means that while at around 1pm you might feel comfortable with bear legs and a tshirt, it is still light layers in the morning. And of course there are still days where you will read this and think I am crazy. In fact readers an hour north of downtown probably think I am crazy but I digress.
I have always steered clear of maxi dresses as I never really thought I was tall enough to pull them off. But last summer I noticed a bunch of borderline petite bloggers, much like myself, wearing them and looking great.
So I decided that I would grab one for this summer season and found this one during one of those 40% off sales that Banana Republic has every week.
Outfit details: Maxi Dress Banana Republic, Denim Jacket JCREW Factory, Flats Miu Miu via Coco’s Consignment.
So obviously it is still too cold most of the time for a tank dress. What I like about the maxi style (aside from the super cute colour blocking) is that my legs are covered for cool mornings. But a jacket is a must, at the very least for the mornings. I can see myself styling this with a different belt and wedge sandals when the weather gets hotter.
How do you style a maxi dress for spring?
PS – don’t forget to link up with #thewaywewear. I want to see your light wash denim looks 😉

I have a couple of maxi dresses that I wear throughout the season. During the colder months I layer but once spring is here I like wearing my denim jacket over my maxi dress. :)

I am not sure I would go with the maxi dress in winter here, but loving it right now.

I think the dress is super flattering on you! I have a cropped denim jacket that I've been meaning to wear with maxi skirts - that might be my outfit next weekend!

Thanks Catherine! I was actually expecting it to be either too long or the wrap not to work, but it was perfect so obvs I kept it.

lol - yes your height would show off that feature alot more. I am hoping when I wear heels it will be more visable. Honestly I was just glad I didn't have to hem it :)
