A while back I shared a post about Costa Rica as my Mom and Aunt were heading there and are there now. It got me thinking about where we want to go and relax after tax season is over. We have never been to Jamaica and the chance to eat some authentic jerk chicken and enjoy the sun is a great combination. Everything in this post is on my wish list to create the ultimate Caribbean vacation wardrobe. This is what to pack for Jamaica.
What to pack for Jamaica
- Pacific Straw Fedora – a hat is a must when I am off to a hot locale like Jamaica. I once had heat stroke when in the DR and it isn’t a feeling I want to replicate. Thankfully summer hats are much more plentiful and I even have a few tricks on how to pack a hat.
- Woven Straw tote bag – I am loving the contrast handle on this bag. Perfect for dinner when all you really need to carry on the resort is some sunglasses, lipstick and your room key.
- The Reese One Piece swim suit – I shared this exact bathing suit in another colour way on this post. I think I might like it better in the black I don’t know what do you think?
- Fringe trimmed embroidered lined midi dress – is it even a Caribbean vacation if you don’t wear some sort of boho style dress? I would wear this to dinner one night belted and ditch the belt to wear it as a cover up.
- Carnival round sunglasses – Sunglasses are a must. If I had only 4 things to pack on vacation sunglasses would be on that list for sure. Loving the round shape and pale pink.
- Mini dress in crinkle – This dress is cheap and fun. Another option to wear to dinner one night and then use as a beach cover up later on.
- Thelma Jersey t-shirt – I like a good white tee on a regular day. I pack them for vacation because they go with everything. Skirts, shorts, beach pants. Everything.
- St. Ives Paperbag Trousers – Usually I am all about dresses whilst on vacation but I want to try out some beach pants. These are another great option.
- Floral Print Swimsuit – Cute bathing suits are a must for a Jamaica vacation. I usually pack 3 to 5 swimsuits.
- Printed Tea Dress – I like to wear dresses on vacation. I usually pack 5 dresses some of which I re-purpose for the beach. This dress is gorgeous probably not something I would re-wear on the beach but it would look just as great at the office.
- Classic leopard slide sandals – cute slides for the pool and for dinner are a must. I love the idea of having these pop against a black dress but it would also be fun to have them clash with some boho prints.
- Bernardo Petra Slide Sandals – I usually pack a couple of different pairs of sandals for different outfits. I would use something like this or this for poolside.
Other things I usually pack are a big beach bag, light pjs, travel makeup, mineral sunscreen, underwear. My travel outfit is all about layers and sneakers. I also make sure to pack up my kobo with lots of good reads.

Loved reading this. Please put one together for me - advice needed. We fly to Atlanta - Georgia, then we are on a coach touring places such as Nashville, Savannah, New Orleans and many other places. I have never taken a coach tour before and am tearing my hair out wondering what to pack for this area in April.

Ohh I will put something together for sure. It will be much warmer in the Southern US than in Canada or the UK.
