Last month we flew to Mexico. There was a last blast of cold air at home (it even snowed a bit the morning we were leaving!) and we were so ready for a vacation.
It can be tricky dressing for a flight especially when you have differing temperatures at home and where you are jetting off. This is what to wear to the Airport.
When it comes to flying, especially for anything more than an hour or two, comfort is key. I am not saying you shouldn’t try to look good but looking glamorous but then being uncomfortable for 5 – 10 hours on a plan just seems a bit crazy to me!
What to Wear to the Airport
This latest trip I wore my softest, stretchiest skinny jeans. Honestly these are just as comfortable as sweatpants but they look more put together.
Not shown in these pictures is that when we left Toronto it was cold so I layered a long sleeve tee over a short sleeve tee and then layered the cashmere wrap over top. I hate dragging along a coat when I am going to have no use for it where I am headed. The wrap kept me so warm on the plane and also kept me from freezing when we left the cold.
Sure a sweater could have worked but the way this cashmere poncho wraps around the body it really feels more like a soft blanket than a sweater.
When we left Toronto I was wearing my New Balance sneakers but when we left Mexico I wore my Banana Republic Fringe sandals. They were my most worn sandals on vacation because they were easy to slip on and off. I slipped off my sandals and switched back into my sneakers to stay warm on the plane.
The other items I had as part of my airport outfit was my Everlane Weekender which I am going to review later in the week. Short story it fit under the airport seats perfectly and looked super stylish. I also carried my Aritzia sun hat which I packed in my suitcase on the way home. It actually ended up being one of those great crushable hats that retains its shape even if it has been totally squished.
Outfit details: Cashmere sweater airport wrap Club Monaco (on sale! Canada here), tee JCREW (actually wore this Madewell one when I traveled), denim 7 for all Mankind, weekender Everlane, sandals Banana Republic (also wore these New Balance).
Does this make your what to wear to the airport list?
