Last year I tested out the Kobo Glo HD and it changed the way I read. I haven’t bought a paper novel since last spring. I found myself reading more than I had in years because it was so portable (I was reading waiting to pick up my kids) and it was so easy to add novels, to keep reading the next book in a series without going out of the house.
I loaded up this Kobo for our latest vacation. We took along more books than we could read, more than I would ever have packed in my suitcase. Plus carrying it around in my beach bag was so light!
I like that the brightness adjusts to the amount of light in the room. I like that the screen emulates an actual page. I like that I can still turn the page, albeit virtually. I like that there are no more lost pages and no more too windy days.
This year our Kobo library is growing with the addition of the Kobo Aura H20. Oh how I wish I had this for while we were on vacation. I could have read in the pool with this Kobo because it is waterproof for up to 30 mins in 1 meter of water.
And it is dust proof so whether you are poolside, dockside or at the beach you are protected from accidents, blowing sand or errant waves. Heck even kids playing with a hose in the back yard and you don’t need to stress about a bit of water mixing with your electronics.
The Kobo Aura H20 is also glare proof so reading in the summer sun is not going to be an issue.
When I compared the Kobo Aura H20 to the Kobo Glo HD the first thing I noticed is that the Aura is bigger and a bit heavier. Noticeably so but not in such a way that it is a deal breaker. The Kobo Aura H20 is still smaller than an ipad mini.
Still if you prefer reading on a larger screen, the Kobo Aura H2o is somewhere between a paperback and a hardcover. The font and its size is fully customizable, which means that you can make the font as large as you need to easily read.
Forgot your Kobo at the cottage? Sync your bookmarks and you can finish your book on your Kobo app on another device or even another Kobo.
