We had our first blast of winter on November 1st.
It actually snowed and as such it was quite cold. Like wear a hat and scarf cold.
My kids were thrilled and wanted to go outside and play in the snow but it was gone by mid morning. Not exactly enough snow to make a snowman anyways.
Halloween was much more active evening. Both kids dressed up and went out trick or treating. Plus with now living in suburbia there were many more kids coming to the door. We actually got rid of all our candy (even though bags full came back into our house).
The next day we got dressed up once again so that I could take some pictures and take the kids over to see my parents before packing up all the Halloween attire/decorations for another year.
As much as I like Halloween I find that it is more of a right of passage to make it through to the most wonderful season of all. I could start listening to Christmas music and put up the tree right now if it were not a bit early by social standards. Thank goodness we Canadians don’t have to wait for yet another holiday to pass before getting onto Christmas.

PS I cut my hair this week. It is shorter than I was expecting but a great change. Not really obvious from these pictures but you can get a peek on Instagram.
